Moment police net $16m drug haul Police execute major drug bust

Video and photos reveal the moment police arrested four men allegedly in possession of a huge pile of drugs and cash.

A multi-agency drug operation has swooped on western Sydney, arresting four men and netting more than $16 million worth of meth, cocaine, heroin and cash.

Drug and Firearms Squad detectives conducted a raid of a business in Fairfield on Thursday after border authorities discovered $15kg of ice last week imported from the United States concealed in a power drive unit.

The drugs recovered from the air cargo consignment led to “extensive inquiries” with investigators conducting a raid at the western Sydney address, according to NSW Police.

During the search, they added 6.2kg of cocaine, 1kg of heroin, $600,000 cash, heat sealing machines and other items to the haul from last week.

Police said the combined drug value was estimated at more than $16 million, with four men — aged 32, 25 and two aged 24 — arrested and transferred to Fairfield Police Station.

“All four men were charged with attempting to import commercial quantity of border-controlled drug, supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity) and participate criminal group,” a police statement said.

The men appeared at Fairfield Local Court on Thursday, where they were refused bail to reappear at the same court today on Friday.

Investigations are continuing.
