Live: Liam Payne’s last Snapchat before death as crowds begin vigil outside hotel

A meteoric rise to fame

By Caitlin Rawling

Payne was part of the boy band One Direction which was formed on X Factor UK in 2010, by judge Simon Cowell.

The boy band was made up of members: Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.

The singer was 16-years-old when he joined 1D.

One Direction was an extremely successful boy band with the band selling out arenas and making millions of dollars in record sales.

The band took an indefinite hiatus in January 2016 so the boys could focus on their solo careers.

Payne’s fellow band members are yet to comment on his death.
