Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Sydney’s south

A 47-year-old Maroubra man was found with stab wounds to his neck on a footpath outside an apartment complex on Maloney Street in Eastlakes about 12.20pm on Monday.

He was treated by paramedics, but died at the scene.

Police established a crime scene, and began inquiries into the circumstances of the stabbing.

Officers arrested a 33-year-old man today at Surrey Hills Police station.

He was charged with one count of murder (domestic violence) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm

The 33-year-old was refused bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
